Growsafe Introductory Certification + Approved Handler Certification

Your Growsafe® Introductory Certification is valid for 5 years.

  • You’ll learn safe, responsible, and effective use of agrichemicals
  • Demonstrates that you, the user, handler, or supplier, are conversant with the requirements of NZS 8409:2004 “Management of Agrichemicals” and comply with the practices recommended by the Standard

Your Approved Handler Certification for Use, Storage and Disposal of Agrichemicals is valid for 5 years.

  • You’ll learn how to be competent and certified to handle certain hazardous substances
  • You’ll meet the requirements of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (Personnel Qualifications) Regulations 2001
    • For Agrichemicals, both of these requirements are covered by the 1-day Growsafe Introductory course, which is conducted to Unit Standards 21563 and 21564
    • Successful completion of Unit Standard 21564 requires supervisor sign-off on the EPA Form 3 Declaration, to confirm on-job training and practical competence
    • If no supervisor is available, a work colleague, previous employer, industry adviser or auditor can fulfil this requirement – ideally someone who already holds this qualification or similar
    • The Growsafe trainer is not able to sign this declaration off at the classroom-based course, and is only able to do this if training is undertaken at the client’s premises after the course
    • An additional fee for time and travel costs will be charged – contact us for further information about these costs
